I realize that laugh is one of his trademark gigs but he did it too many times in this movie, sometimes at unnecessary times.
I did sixty in five minutes once

I'm watching it for the 1st time tonight and am only 25 minutes into it and have noticed the same thing already. That stupid laugh almost makes me want to turn it off

That wasn't Eddie's choice. Ultimately, what the actors do and what makes it into the final cut is the choice of the director, so it was in the movie the exact number of times the director wanted it in there. Otherwise the director would have had Eddie do retakes on those scenes, or they would have been edited out later.

While I had no problem with the laugh, I thought he was a bit too cheerful for a guy whose best friend was just murdered and is about to lose his job. Go figure

Nobody minded when it first came out (even I say it in the theaters), but it got more annoying as the movie went on. There was a funny part when Jenny does it right back at him.

I can't remember how often he did it in this movie but he did it quite a bit in the golden child as well for some reason I remember more.
funny to think it is unheard of now.
