Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Birdy

I enjoyed the whole movie, but some of my favorite scenes included the gentle touches (after Birdy's first jump, in the hospital). the dad scenes (Birdy arguing with Al's dad about the car, Birdy talking with his dad about being good at something no one wants), and of course, the "dead" ending with musical cue.
Come on, folks. You know you want to add your own, lol.

I like all the ones that you mentioned. My absolute favorite scene, though, is probably the "Birdy's Flight" scene where he has an out-of-body experience and imagines that he's flying through town. I just think it's a really powerful scene, and I love the music that plays during it.
I also like the scenes when they finally get the car to work, when Birdy's swimming at the beach, and when they help rescue the dogs from being slaughtered.
The entire end scene with Al holding Birdy and saying that he won't leave him is really touching. I love when the two of them escape from the hospital.
This whole film is just a really great coming-of-age story.
