I for one liked Conan The Destroyer better.

I haven't seen the movie, but from everything I hear and read, there are home movies better than Eragon.
Have you seen it? If so, how bad is it? (i.e; 'Gouge my eyes out' bad, 'walk out of the theater' bad, or 'mock the movie mercilessly' bad, etc.)

Well I read the book and my main problem is they cut 60% of it out.
But getting back to Destroyer, my main problem is the dialogue (especially the scene in Taramis' bedroom) and the fact that we go from bloodbath in Barbarian to a tame sequel.

So the book was good? That would be surprising, given that the author was apparently a teenager when he wrote the novel. Most teenagers have difficulty stringing coherent sentences together, and the ones that don't are nowhere near capable of writing anything that could even charitably be called a novel.
Perhaps this is the exception; I may need to find out.
I agree with you, though: After "Barbarian", "Destroyer" was weak sauce. Bloodless violence, wrong tone and atmosphere, weaker score, weaker supporting cast. It was just a lesser movie.

barbarian as a film is better, better story and character development for sure, but i have to say i thought that destroyer has alot more of a D&D feel to it, wizards, thieves, warriors, barbarians, etc.
i thought the sidekick in destroyer was cool though. jar jar binks never killed numerous people with daggers to the kidneys.

Howard did. I think Howard might even be upset, if he would learn, that his works are compared with D&D kind of fantasy. Good for him, that he's dead.
And furter more, it was that generic fantasy feel, which ruined Destroyer for me. -

D&D is gay. First of all
Second Destroyer is gay. It is like a disney movie. Horrible script, horrible directing. In fact, I think it is one of the worst sequels ever made. Barbarian is such an amazing movie and they could have done so much with the story and they totally blew it. This director dropped the ball like even a thousand times worse than george lucas with the new star wars. Barbarian is a brutal movie, where conan is actually barbaric. The second movie is kid beep How can you even compare the two? How anyone can even say that destroyer is a better movie is just beyond crazy and beyond my comprehension. The plot is hollow, the dialogue is stupid, the characters are either annoying or just worthless. Absolutely zero creativity or real thought went into destroyer. A real shame -

Barbarian is a "serious" movie, full of gore, deep-epic handled dialogues, scenes, music, etcDestroyer looks more for kids (weak plot, less gore, very predictableIt doesnt has that "epic-historic" feeling that the first has)
I choose Barbarian (and always will do)
It seems that results over Destroyer, made producers evict filming a 3rd part of Conan (sorry if this comment may not look accurate to you, but thats what I think) -

Okay, dewd. Just calm down. This reminds me of a great scene from the Rutger Hauer film "Flesh and Blood" where the bride is trying to choose which necklace to take. One of the whores walks up to her and says "Silly bitch, just take both."
