Anyone find it interesting that the 1st Americans we see in this film were African American MP's? Based on my understanding of the war that would be almost impossible as AA's were kept behind the lines let alone would never hold the position of MP.
Keep in mind that Nazis had a real issues with blacks especially America's (Jessie Owens) so that was pretty in your face Germany!
And yet Lucie suddenly realizes that "we can work with them" -

Actually, the Germans didn't have much of an issue with blacks. Berlin was basically an open city before the Nazi's took power. Blacks were actually treated much more equally in european cities than they were in Pre WWII America.
The whole Jesse Owens thing was a propaganda ploy, there's plenty of good reading on it out there. I would highly suggest the book "Triumph", it's a great read on Jesse Owens with great insight into the times before, during and after the war.

Berlin was the gay capital of the world and after the Nazis took power openly gay men were sent for "reeducation." Most were never seen again.
So maybe I should have said in your face Nazis as opposed to Germans and Lucie was a Nazis Suck up.
More so losing to anything less than Aryan was totally in your face to Nazis.
But my fact remains due to the US issues with blacks there would never have been black MP's. Blacks were treated real bad by American at that time and that is not covered enough

You're mistaken about blacks being relegated to tasks behind the lines during WWII. Google it and you will find a plethora information on units serving on the front lines in Europe during WWII in both combat and support roles.
There were black MP's during WWII, the MP's had many diverse roles, not just the breaking up on bar fights and directing traffic we see in films. There are pictures out there of black MP's scouting roads and routes for the "fireball express" (not sure that was the name) which was the all black convoy supply truck unit that was constantly feeding supplies up the line in Italy.
The services were segregated until after the war, so it would make sense that black MP's would serve with and in conjunction with black units. Many of these units fought and took up support duties in Germany too. Being that Shaback was a small rural town, that really didn't see any action, it wouldn't be that far fetched for such areas to be given to the smaller black units, and the MP's that would be with them.
If it was any good they'd have made an American version by now - Hank Hill
