1. A Nightmare On Elm Street 1984 10/10
2. The Dream Warriors 7/10
3. New Nightmare 7/10
4. Freddy's Revenge 6/10
5. Freddy vs Jason 6/10
6. Dream Master 5/10
7. Freddy's Dead 5/10
8. Remake 4/10
9. Dream Child 4/10

I hated parts 4-6, despite some decent moments in them.
Toss up between New Nightmare and the original for me, followed by part 3 and then part 2.
Nightmare On Elm Street (Had some obvious 80's cheese, but was great for the time)
New Nightmare (Almost perfect, but the Dillon gets annoying and the finale is lame)
Dream Warriors (Too many cheesy moments, and not enough Freddy in the shadows)
Freddy's Revenge (GREAT Freddy, but it needed a stronger finale, less bird explosions and less camp)
Other than some good ideas and moments in the later movies, I don't like them and find they aren't very watchable.

Dude, I'm exactly the same basically.
The original and New Nightmare are 1a and 1b to me. They are equals.
Then parts 3 and 2.
I differ as I put the remake next.
Parts 4-6 don't exist to me.
Freddy vs Jason was good for what it was.
Haters gonna hate

   I've only watched 2-7 once, but I've watched the original a few times. FVJ is the only Friday/Nightmare movie I've watched in theaters and the one I've watched the most, so I'm biased towards it. I watched the original last night and I disliked the ending more than usual.

1 - A Nightmare on Elm Street
2 - A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors
3 - Wes Craven's New Nightmare
4 - A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master
5 - A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge
6 - Freddy Vs. Jason
7 - A Nightmare on Elm Street (Remake)
8 - Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare
9 - A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child
Mine isn't super definitive but the top 4 basically are, though I have to say I find NOES4 a much more "fun" movie to watch than something like New Nightmare, it's just not particularly good as a horror movie.

I know a lot of fans might disagree with me on this, but I thought the remake was actually one of the best films of the series, and certainly one of my favorites. Yes, the original remains a very important film, but to be honest it is not the scariest of them for me and for me some elements from it feel dated. Some of the sequels had more of an impact on me than the original, despite them having flaws. With that in mind, here is my classification;
1.Wes Craven's New Nightmare
2.Nightmare on Elm Street (remake)
3.Dream Warriors
4.Freddy's Revenge
5.Nightmare on Elm Street (original)
6.Freddy Vs Jason
7.Dream Masters
