I rewatched the first one a month ago and it hasn't aged well for me, enough so that I had no interest in rewatching any of the others.
But having said that, it was incredibly imaginative and innovative for its time. It's just that now I've seen these tropes done to death already so the impact is much less. -

This is why I try to avoid rewatching old movies I used to like, it ruins them for me for all time. No matter how good I remember some 80's movie as having been, a rewatch will kill it. The movies just look so bad, the acting even worse, by todays standards. The only exception I can think of is Star Wars, which always remains classic.

I've never been hit in the face with this so hard as when I rewatched Aliens. Used to love that movie but goddamn, it's the double whammy of showing too much "tech" which always ages like **** (Alien doesn't have this problem) + you're watching it on Blu-ray / a nice TV and it's terrible. The characters and acting are **** too, come to think of it.
