I copied a post years ago from someone who knew many of the locations, but I forgot to make a note of his user name. Imdb have since then deleted posts that go back that far. I'm going to New Mexico in September 2016 and would like to visit Deming. This was his wish list and I'm wondering if he found them. Thanks. He said:
"I tried to add these as well, but they apparently weren't accepted:
Roadrunner Statue - U.S. Highway 290 & Main Street, Fort Stockton, Texas, USA (deleted scenes)
Concordia Cemetery, El Paso, Texas, USA (deleted scenes).
I've still got a couple of Houston highway locations to add and I also need to ID a few unknown spots from other parts of the film. Here's what I'm looking for, in case anybody can help:- The bank in Houston.
- The hotel in Houston, called "The Meridian" in the film.
- Which scenes were shot in Deming, NM? (I have a feeling it's the very brief shot on the return trip to Houston of mountainous desert with a bunch of adobe houses, just before the walkie-talkie "speed of light" part.)
- The Plainsman Motel sign & the neon sign with the horses galloping. (Maybe Deming as well?)
- Which, if any, scenes were actually shot in Westhoff, TX? (Wenders goes on and on about Westhoff in the commentary, but the little town with the Broadway Bar is really Nordheim. Heard about this here: http://wim-wenders.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=53& and confirmed the location of the bar through Google.)"
