she gets asked what's up her butt or something like that and freaks out. I'm guessing that the Russians had caught her at an early time and had butt sex with her and she was messed up from it.

The Russians went nuts every time she was around. She rides her bike up to the gas station and they steal her goodies, then chase her. She goes into town and they hit on her as she's leaving. Apparently, she's every Russian's dream.

I assumed that the Russians had tried to rape her, both from Charlie Sheen's remark and moreso from the grandfather's actions at the cabin.
He says very angrily that they "tried" to have their way with his granddaughters, and from how p!ssed he gets and how he keeps clenching and unclenching his fist it seems to suggest he probably killed the Russians during or after the act.
Plus he was hiding them even though they lived in the middle of nowhere, and if he killed a group of soldiers perhaps he was worried more Russians might show up looking for their missing comrades.
Just look at how he wants to send off his granddaughters to live with guerrilla fighters when they have a safe and apparently well-stocked cabin. Clearly the grandmother didn't want them to go away, so why else would the grandfather send them to live with the Wolverines unless he expected more Russians to show up?
Personally the scene reminds me of a chapter in the Tom Clancy novel
Red Storm Rising
where a group of American soldiers come upon a few Russian soldiers attempting to rape a girl during the Soviet occupation of Iceland.
Ah, the Cold War.

Consensus seems to be Grandpa was wrong, they didn't just try to have their way with 'em, the enemy succeeded in penetrating the defense.
After seeing it on tv the last couple days, I concur with this synopsis. -

I think the Grandpa knew that the girls were raped. He was just trying to preserve them some dignity by not saying it.
