The only person she was "bitchy" to, was her boyfriend. She actually said hi to Samantha. I just find that kind of refreshing being that in a lot of these teen flicks, they make the beautiful popular girl completely unlikeable or a bully.

Caroline is a nice girl. That's why Samantha and her friend comment on her "being practically impossible to cut up." If she were beautiful and mean, they would have had nasty things to say about her.

The movie didn't give her a chance to show off her nastiness. No, she's definitely one of the nicer popular girls from a teen movie. She wasn't fit for Jake (or vice versa) but other than that there wasn't anything off-putting about her. Also doesn't hurt that she was more likable (and obviously hotter) than the main character herself.
