I say re-make it with a more in-depth script. Oh, and some amped up violence of course! I was watching the HD DVD last night and actually thought who would play what roles if it were re-vamped, and I too thought Mandy Moore could be Ellen. She wouldn't have to lip sync, that's for sure. Hartnett would be okay, maybe have Heath Ledger as DeFoe's character.

What are you people smoking? This was the worst movie I've ever seen in my life. Granated, it was kinda awesome in its horrible-ness, but ask yourselves if actors like Diane Lane, Willam Defoe, Amy Madigan etc. would want anything to do with a remake? There is a very good reason that this movie was on at 3:00 am last Tuesday: BECAUSE IT'S AWFUL.

Alba and Kutcher would be the best availble of the big stars to pull this off today.

Michael Pare would do it, and Uwe Boll would probably direct

An unofficial sequel has been made. It is called "Road to Hell", starring Michael Par. Deborah Van Valkenburg also returned. This story explored the possibility that his life took a very dark turn after he left Ellen. It's not for kids. It has not been released yet. It was made by an indie company; Curnan Pictures and Albert Pyun Movies. They are working on scheduling screenings in several cities. The first screening happened Sunday, March 11, 2012, in Las Vegas.

                  And it looks absolutely terrible.
Embarrassingly bad. And not in the "so bad it's good way". Just bad. Bad bad. Plain bad.

                    Which explains why
                    Road to Hell
currently has a vote rating of 7.9 (776 votes). That doesn't happen to films that are "just bad". You may point to a low number of voters, but it is an indie release. It would have been different had it been a worldwide release - it never even showed in my own country.

As the Trivia page indicated, this movie was originally set to be the first of a trilogy starring Cody. If it had been a good idea to make a sequel or two, they would've done it back then. The movie flopped at the box office and killed that idea. I like the movie and the soundtrack, but the idea of a sequel 25 or 30 years later is laughable, no matter who they cast.

                          Albert Pyun did a sequel.
Seems a few people have seen 'Road To Hell' -

There was the original 2008 world premiere release and ones in both 2012 and 2013 but aside from the occasional YouTube clip, has anyone found where to watch it these days?
