There are so many wrong things with this movie, but I'll start with the wardrobe/costume design. What in the world was Dafoe wearing when he came in wearing vinyl overalls with suspenders and no shirt? Not a good look, not even for his character. How could they say their lines and not laugh at the sight of Dafoe? How could anyone take anything Dafoe said seriously when he's wearing vinyl overalls with suspenders and no shirt?
If there's an empty space, just fill it with a line. . even if it's from another show. -

You wrote this 20 plus years after the film came out. I was sinister and deviant back in the 80s. This is an alternate reality, "another time, another place".

Streets of Fire is set in a sort of Rock n' Roll fantasy netherworld, with all the best parts of everyone's Rock n' Roll dreams: Cool, badass heroes, wicked dangerous villains, and exciting, kickass smokin' hot babes. All of us have wanted to be one of all of these characters at one time or another.

I found it freaky and disconcerting, but it made him seem really bizarre and thus even scarier. You couldn't really tell where his mind is. If he was wearing a leather jacket and chains, you would know he was trying to look cool and tough, but that obviously doesn't come across with the waders so it throws you.

Cody wore suspenders too. Maybe it was a "2 sides of the same coin" that Raven and Cody were more similar than different type of deal.
