Who knows what diseases that bum has like some bums do.

He probably doesn't think of it that way. He grew up in a future where most everyone was killed by machines. I doubt clothes were that clean in the future anyway. They make them look like they all have clean uniforms in the flashbacks we see but I really doubt they had a working washer and dryer.

wow I just thought of something.. he didn't take any pants from the store but maybe he bought a new pair abit later? (like he mustve bought the sleeveless T shirt hes got on when hes sawing the shotgun as he didn't pick up that in the store) so the pants he got on later when he meets Sarah aren't the bums poopy piss pants??
will have to check on dvd if the pants he got on later in the film are the same ones he steals of the bum -

Yes! I've watched Terminator recently. And the same question came to my mind. Besides later he had an unprotected sex with Sara so he could easily infect her. But I think, considering what troubles they had to face, the probable desease problem seemed to be the least worry for them!

Reese was in a hurry so the skid marks prolly made the bum's britches easier to slide into. I guess thats why we didn't get a BJ scene when they were making John in the motel room. The tramp is wearing long-johns under the trousers that Reece steals so wasn't skin touching them. But still, he (and the trousers) probably smells quite bad as well as wearing tramp trousers. Sarah has been dumped, and her friends are dead, so she's clearly not too picky
