Uh ThunderCats is my favorite cartoon from the '80s but it was far from brilliant. It had enough plotholes to fly a airplane through. Not to mention all of the convenient save the day moments and McGuffins.
And Season 1 hasn't aged gracefully.

Believe me T-Cats has aged beautifully, alot moreso than Ben-10 and other shows of today era, that are barely 5 years old. All these 3D kids shows of today can't compare to the 80's when it was the "Golden age" of cartoons, and plenty of people already recognise that fact, so its a moot point from you to be honest!

The bottom line is that Thundercats was made for children, an audience who do not care about plot holes & who want to see the good guys win & that's the whole point of the show, To encourage a strong moral fibre in the children watching it & to capture their imagination at the same time which this show did, far better than any other before or since. That is why it is regarded as the greatest cartoon of all time by most. It satnds alone, The animation for the the time was beyond compare & there are still scenes today that outshine anything elses, even in the digital age.

I find some of those other shows mentioned unwatchable today, "Silverhawks" chief among them. I adored it as a child, had all the toys, etc. But it's borderline incoherent watching it now.
"Thundercats" had a number of misfires (the Lunattacks' [sp?] exile/the circus train coming to mind), but on the whole, it was an outstanding show that I can still enjoy at 26. -

Here's why ThunderCats is better than SilverHawks:
ThunderCats did not have a character from the planet of the mimes.
In all seriousness both shows are basically the same. I'd argue the big difference is that one has more sci-fi elements while the other has more fantasy elements. BUT reallythey're the same show.

I'm not comparing ThunderCats to other cartoons, I'm critiqueing it as a stand alone property. You seem to have a very strong attachment to it so, sure, if you say so.
Yes Self-Patriot, thats because i'm clearly a fan whenever i answer a question or respond to a topic in its defense. But according to you thats seen as an unusual attachment or crime. Wow (facepalms).
I'm so glad i didn't respond to this reply i.e. dribble of yours months ago but now that i look at it. Lol, it'll seriously makes you look all desperate and quite crazy, for trying to stir someone like me up, but i'm too smart for that to happen ('wink'). Sigh You just seemly can't deal or express yourself well enough on here without trying to tear somebody else down cos they can defend their opinions like a mature adult far better than you can, when challenged them in a discussion such as this one etc.

Critiquing it quite badly i'll say. And since you didn't use any worthwhile examples to reason out your critisms clearly (or as you call it comparing it to other toons) enough your plainly, bashing the series is all. So don't think oming out saying you liked the show? like that, can be used as some sort of defense mechanism? i.e. letting you off the hook, cos it doesn't. The majority of your posted comments easily come across as a simple negative rant, cos they quite obviously did. And personally none of your commenting on here ever says you liked the series at all. Sad but true! And yeah "I" certainly do like the series quite alot as i do of many other animated series of the 80's. So please don't think your negative jibes at all directed at me means a damn to me or other proud older T-Cat fans on here o.k., So please go find something else to do with your time on here than waste it trying to refute what we're taking time and enjoy talking about and act all high and mighty etc junior, you got that!

I don't really remember TigerSharks. I did really like SilverHawks, I remember it being my second favorite cartoon after ThunderCats as a kid.

Personally I just found Thundercats to be another bland and boring merchandise-driven cartoon of the 80's that also fell victim to all the ridicilous requirements of the PTA and other parental organizations. Granted, it's still a hell lot less dull than MASK was.
The biggest offender in Thundercats to me is how overpowered the heroes are compared to the villains. The mutants are too stupid to be of any serious menace, and I've by now started to call the Sword of Omens "The sword powered by BS". -

My favorite cartoon ever was Transformers. My other favorites were Voltron, Battle of the Planets, He-Man & G.I. Joe. I remember liking Thundercats but never really got into them. I have gone back and started to watch them all again and I actually enjoy them more now. Lol kind of funny.
