Underground is the worst survival situation. Well maybe not the worst but definitely not good. Optimally you would have a convoy to remain mobile. A couple tractor trailers filled with supplies. Several more hauling fuel. A few with flatbed hauling bulldozers and or military aardvarks. Finally A few motorcycles for scouting. The bulldozer is the ultimate anti zombie horde weapon. Powerful, protected cab, multi ton weight, capable of being fitted with external fuel tanks. Just start pushing them into tangled piles crushed under the machine & their own weight. Finish with a few tons of dirt. Feast for the worms. And spears would be preferable to guns for small encounters. Silent and with no ammo issues.

Did you see Day of the Dead?
My question has to do with being there and not out and about.
The zombies are have gotten into and walking around in the underground bunker.
Now what for the best chance at survival?
If you get out, then yeah, being ground mobile is the best thing to do if you cannot fly away in a plane or chopper.

Vision is somewhat restricted with night vision gear. Makes it harder to watch your back. For that reason I'd prefer a hallway or room. I can keep a wall to my back and work my way around the room.
