I've seen this film at least a dozen times, but I only just noticed this line (unless I'm hearing things). When Fletch brings Gummy and Fat Sam back with him to the newspaper, he asks his boss if he has anything valuable in his office and "Tracy Morgan tapes?" Was Tracy Morgan well-known in the '80s?

Tracy Morgan was completely unknown in the '80s. He says "Victor Morgan tapes," but I don't get the reference because there's nothing I can find related to a Victor Morgan.

Vicki Morgan was a high dollar call girl that apparently had a lot of information regarding the Washington D.C. elite. She apparently had videotapes of her encounters as a dominatrix over a lot of the business and political elite. She was killed by her roommate and the videotapes never materialized. I believe that was what Fletch was referencing.
