I haven't seen the movie in awhile, and recently only saw the heavily edited TV version. Was it ever explained why Rick had gone to so many schools?

Does make you wonder why his mom needed to move them around so much. We know Rick's dad died so maybe his mom just became restless after that and couldn't bear to stay in one place long.

His mom might have gotten a lot of job transfers or been in the military or something I don't think they ever said though
