      I think it's now a well-known
      fact
that there are a number of intentional homo-erotic and otherwise gay parts in this movie.
      Oh.It's a
      FACT
? I didn't know the people involved with
A Nightmare On Elm Street 2
said this movie has homosexual undertones.I've notice any movie or tv series that doesn't have any homosexual characters, there seems to be at least one person on IMDb who says, fill in the blank _ character is a homosexual or there are homosexual undertones.

Yes, it's a fact, not just a fact, but a well-known fact. I know what you mean about people saying some movie, show, or character is homosexual. It happens a lot, and not just with sexuality. People add different meanings to all kinds of things, often where they don't actually exist. In this case, however, it is a well-known fact that there are a number of homo-erotic elements that are intentionally included in the film. The writer (David Chaskin) has said this was the case. Also, Mark Patton, the openly-gay actor who was selected for the role (partly) because he was openly gay has said so, too. I don't know if others involved in the film have said something similar and I can't speak for other commenters about other movies.
        I'm just expressing my opinion.
You may all go to hell, and I will go to Texas.

I think it's a convenient coverup. For 15 years after this movie was released, there was virtually nothing even hinted about this movie having having a gay subtext by anyone involved in the making of it. Then after the 2000s or so, when the gay legend/theories about this movie started snowballing around the Internet, suddenly they want to say "Oh, yeah. It IS kind of gay. I totally see it now." Where was David Chaskins (sp?) back in 1985/1986 when this movie was in theaters? How come he didn't confirm Jesse's allegedly confused sexuality then? Why did it take him 25 years to finally go on record about something that was probably the biggest project of his career?
Ultimately, what I think is that they just got tired of having to answer for why they made such an inferior sequel to the original that the gay thing is now giving them something else to talk about.

Did you watch the documentary Never Sleep Again? It's alluded to in there that the gay viba wasn't completely accidental.

Don't think I've seen anyone mention amongst all the gay discussions that to call a man a jessie means you think they seem a bit gay and/or effeminate. Not something I'd use since I imagine it's intended to be insulting but I always smile at the line "There's a Jesse on the phone"! 😄

I think it's really funny that people actually say gay Undertones for this movie. there are no gay undertones for this movie this movie is 100% gay flick , not that there's anything wrong with that.

I was noticing when the main kid and Grady were having to do push-ups in the field they were looking a little, "suggestive". And I obviously noticed everything else, but that kind of stood out as just another odd reference.

I think you mean overtones. There's nothing subtle about any of the homoerotica of this movie

I was going to say, the things he listed are the most obvious gay elements of the movie.
