Her scene in 'The Whole Nine Yards', in the car with the cop/contract killer. oh man
Not beautiful in the 'classic' (?) sense but sexy as hell ! The original drummer for 'Totto' (and excellent drummer btw) Jeff Porcaro, RIP, wrote the song about her. They had been an 'item' for a while - lucky rock stars
*I should retract that last bit - as it turns out Jeff was not so 'lucky' having died from an allergic reaction to the weed killer he was spraying around his yard. Married with kids and alla damn shame.

After Paden tells her she's beautiful, she actually says: "Really? I thought you were into midgets."

Just as a clarification of Fact, while many people and places cite the "Allergic Reaction" (even on Toto's Official Website) because Jeff sprayed his yard before his death, the Los Angeles County Coroner's office lists the cause of death to have been a heart attack from the hardening of the arteries caused by cocaine use.
and yes, Rosanna was A Babe And Then Some in the '80s 😄

In retrospect, her character in the movie is not very well-developed. First she falls for Kline. Then she arbitrarily falls for for Scott Glenn (!??). And nothing is made of either relationship! Methinks Kasdan and Carole Littleton left most of Rosanna's scenes on the cutting-room floor.

            That's very interesting, and
            possibly
true. However, without knowing someone's lifestyle, i.e. that of a rock star, no coroner could make this determination.
Atherosclerosis, or "hardening of the arteries", is a condition in which an artery wall thickens as a result of the accumulation of fatty materials such as cholesterol.
So smoking, a sedentary lifestyle, cheeseburgers, or lack of sleep, could just as easily been the culprit, as cocaine use.

Actually, they make those determinations all the time. After all, that is the one and only purpose of a coroner.
Most doctors agree that cocaine is much worse than eating cheeseburgers or sitting on a couch.

Very true, but at the end of the day, it is still just their
                opinion
, and in some cases, little more than an informed
                guess

That would of course be TOTO, and STEVE Porcaro (Jeff's brother) who was one of the keyboard players in the band, and was dating Rosanna Arquette at the time the song was written. However, the song was actually written by David Paich, the other keyboard player in the band, and the song was not actually about Rosanna Arquette (according to Wikipedia):

You might want to get your spelling and facts straight before you try to dazzle us with your knowledge. About the only thing you got right was that Jeff Porcaro was an AMAZING drummer, and he died too soon (but not from an allergic reaction to weed killer).

I think you will find that these are lines in the script, so blame the script writer or director for making her say them

You should be shot for this statement. The point was that her beauty would diminish as the demands of the land would increase. Check out "SOB" and see her tits before you condemn. Better yet watch "The Wrong Man" She is very beautiful. If anybody has the right to say that she is beautiful it is Rosanna Arquette. Silverado is the best western ever made and R A makes it so. JMHO

Did she actually "fall" for either? I didn't get that impression. Unless there were, in fact, deleted Rosanna Arequette scenes (and the commentary in the Special Edition DVD indicates there may be), I think she was just considering relationship options. I susupect that Kasdan was laying the groundwork for a sub-plot in a possible sequel, which the closing scene seems to be clearly setting up, but which was never made.

I agree - never really get her part in the movie. And maybe there's really nothing to get, and that it's just filler - or they felt like they needed some sort of vague love interest, for some reason.
Or as you say, they planned on a sequel, and this was setting it up.
I cringe every time when she speaks those lines about being beautiful, and the land, and not being beautiful forever, or whatever, blah, blah, blah

I don't think she fell for either, but she figured both had a lot more to them than the average clown who hits on her.
Plus, her husband got killed trying to get the money back. Maybe she still liked him more than the rest of us did. The guy was kind of a weenie.

By Old West standards, Rosanna Arquette would have been considered one smokin' hot piece of @ss!

I think in Boston, she would have been average. In Silverado, or anywhere out west, she'd be a "trail 8.5 or 9."
For there she was quite attractive, and could have her choice. I noticed that when Emmet was leaving for Ca, and probably not coming back for a very long time (or ever, with the way things were in those days) she and Paden were standing pretty close and friendly.
