For most this truly is a shocking and disturbing movie and really deserves the 8.0 score.
But I've seen movies about the atrocities that happened in Unit 731, saw people eating feces in "120 days of Sodom", saw actual footage of animals being tortured and killed in several movies, saw psychological horrors such as Requiem for a Dream.
But I'm hard to please, so I wasn't really shocked or disturbed by anything up I've watched up to now. Can you push me to the limit? What movie or even short film left you scarred for life?
(In b4 I am an emotionally devoid psychopath)

oh man, Requiem for a Dream will leave you in state of wreck! Another movie is Seconds (1966):

The scar battered scene of Rock Hudson looking in the Mirror is sickening. Even Rock was emotionally effected by it and the tears he shed were real. Rumor has it, right after the scene, he smashed in the glass and curled up like a little baby and sobbed for hours. Depending on what stage of live a man is in, it should leave you a little tattered after watching it.

I've seen Requiem for a Dream. It's so-so. In any case I found an appropriate thread here:

          Baise moi
          Irreversible
          Human centipede
The first two are so graphic and "real" they will make you cringe.
Human centipede is beep up 🙂
No films will actually leave anyone scared for life, unless you are watching real murders.

Meh Baise Moi was just an excuse to make porn
            I'll watch Irreversible.
Human Centipede was disgusting but the concept was just too ridiculous to make me take it seriously.
I've watched real murders. They're all over the internet. From Bud Dwyer to that sicko in "One man, one ice-pick", which includes torture, murder, mutilation, necrophilia and cannibalism. If I had to pick, it would be "One man, one ice-pick". But it's not a movie, just a video by a sick attention seeker.

Why don't you just go to liveleak or bestgore. It's all real. None of that movie stuff.

I have watched Cannibal Holocaust. The scene in which a spidermonkey was killed was horrible, especially as it screamed. However, there are some other parts of the film that are clearly fake (e.g. the abortion).
I'd say that the most disturbing thing about Threads is knowing that it could actually happen and that governments have prepared for the eventuality.. You know, when watching Cannibal Holocaust, that it's just a load of bollocks really.
