I'm honestly amazed they didn't use the opening sequence more, where all the dads are in the warehouse doing their culty exercises. You could have cut to that at virtually any point in the film and it would have only been better as a result. I wonder if the Night Slashers are BYO axes or you just show up and they have like a giant garbage can full of community axes since they are a cult after all.
I would rather go BYO axes because otherwise someone has to lug all those axes around. He could get sick and not show up and the whole ax convention would be totally ruined. Also you gotta keep your ax in good working order and test it out on your finger like the Night Slasher did.
I love that the Slasher got like 2 lines of dialogue to encompass his psychological motivation and showcase his nihilism but there were easily more than 40 dudes that got blasted off their motorcycles. If I was in the Slashers I would probably at some point be like, "hey let's reevaluate our tactics, fellas." But then again you are in a nihilistic super-violent cult so I guess you just have to go with the flow.

Is this Carl the same guy as the groundskeeper in Caddyshack? It looks like he's now after something a little bigger than gophers.

I kind of feel sorry for those poor lumberjacks that go to Home Depot shopping for replacement axes. If they get there after the Night Slasher's gang, they're probably going to be out of stock.

Maybe it's Carl from Sling Blade, and he sharpens their axes in exchange for some Biscuits and Mustard.
