This may be the ultimate "child star gone bad" story - http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/child-star-bank-robbery-sunshine-coast-1.3565444

That's a shame to hear that. This movie was one of the more memorable films from my childhood (I liked this film and D.A.R.Y.L. a lot because they were similar story wise) and I remember the actor in this well. The relationship he has with his brother, when he meets him when he was older, and then appreciates him we sees him again at the end when he's younger, was something I always thought was heartfelt & funny.
Good movie. I hope that guy's ok.
He was my C.O. in Nam. CIA listed him as MIA but the V.A. ID'd his M.O. and put out an APB.

Yeah, and that's a serious crime in America and I would assume Canada. So it's not just drugs anymore.

the real shame is that he was caught
his acting residual cheques were clearly no longer arriving in the post

He's one of those 80s childhood touchstones that fell out of the spotlight. The "Whatever happened to" type. Unlike a Cory Haim or a Dana Plato, we didn't see Cramer deteriorate before our eyes. Thus, he's forever 12 years old in our mind. That innocent kid from the gee-whiz movie that we have a warm place for in our hearts. It always hits a little harder when a Joey Cramer type ends up in trouble like this because it just shatters that warm image.
