If "Pearl Harbor" was named something more appropriate and only mentioned the attack in passing, then it would've been a decent (though generic and forgettable) romance film. If you want a film about the actual military and political ramifications of the Pearl Harbor raid, watch "Tora! Tora! Tora!".

LOL on top of how wrong you are about this movie (IMHO) you unquestionably "failed" because Matt Damon is not in Pearl Harbor. I should know, I was once like you and thought it was good too, but Bay's for the masses, not as much of a treat to real film fans.
You want Transformers 2 to be nominated for best picture 2009 too, right???
