It used to be, not too long ago, and its rating wasn't much lower than now but other films' sheer number of votes may have pushed it out.
This is a shame, because I never would FOUND this film if I hadn't been scanning the IMDb top 250 for great films I hadn't yet seen. This deserves to be back on the list.

Near the end of the film, I noticed my right thumb was hurting and the rest of my hand was asleep. My hand was gripped in a clench on the armrest, the thumb contorted and locked in the cupholder. It had obviously been like that for awhile. That is how I knew I had dissolved into the protagonist. I don't care much or rankings or ratings which are subjective.I do know "Come and See" was a powerful war film with incredible sound, cinematography and editing. I would not call it anti-war. It is about the Russian soul, life and resolve at the hands of brutal occupiers who viewed them as vermin; a young boy's adventure becomes a descent into a world of depravity.

Yep. Same with Andrey Rublyev, one of my fav movies ever, also rated 8.2 and also out of the Top 250.

I think that the top 250 list is great! okay, there are many films that shoulndt mind be, but everyone can calculate the list them selfs. they have given the formula how they do it, to calculate the weighted average. 😛 persoanlly, I havent seen this film yet, but it seems good!

It's gone again. Unfortunately IMDB raised the minimum vote count to be on the Top 250 up to 25,000 votes. It's going to be a long time before this film shows up again.

It should make the Top 250 again around Autumn 2015, assuming they don't raise the minimum required votes again.
