      1. The 'Burbs "Whaddaya got in the celler, Herr Klopek!?"
      2. Let it Ride "I'd stake my life on it." "They got a $2 minimum bet!"
      3. The Great Outdoors "Nobody is blowing anyone out their ass!"
      4. The Money Pit "Or I'll not like you anymore!"
      5. The Dream Team "I fear my doctor may have been seized by the romans!"
These never get old to me and always put a smile on my face. I was only born in 1985 but for some reason these resonate with me and I get annoyed by the fact that they don't make comedy for adults by adults anymore, even though I loved these films when I was 8. They still seem much more clever and witty than Will Ferrell and the frat pack, although I still enjoy their stuff. I also love all the films you have mentioned so far.

          1. Valley Girl. I think "Real Genius" is great too, but this one was special for being so funny and charming, with such a slight beginning.
          2. The Right Stuff. This did only fair at the box office but is now seen as the classic it is. Dennis Quaid and Scott Glenn are hilarious, too.
          3. Jumping Jack Flash.
          4. Midnight Run. Very funny, but possibly overlooked for being hard to categorize.
          5. Moving.

Jumping Jack Flash "I'm a little black lady in a big silver box"
Scroodged "The b**ch hit me with a toaster"
The Double Mcguffin -ok so it is 1979 but thats close.
Goonies "I am wondering what is in the bag?"
Brewsters million- the first and only movie we had for our new VCR. Watched it until the tape broke.
Secret of my success " you look like death on a cracker"
Any movie where the girl has to pretend she is a guy!

I used to put XANADU at the top of such a list, but so man y people have come to appreciate it (what with the Broadway version and screenings in independent cinemas), that I feel it's no longer underrated.
Here are some of the best B-movies of that decade.

                  1. 84 Charing Cross Road (1987 memoir)
                  2. Electric Dreams (1984 romantic comedy)
                  3. Millennium (1989 sci-fi)
                  4. Getting It Right (1989 comedy)
                  5. Baby: Secret of the Lost Legend (1985 sci-fi)
Would put the action thriller F/X here, but not sure it's "underrated". Most people have heard of it and liked it.
"Well, for once the rich white man is in control!"
