I was reading a self-defense article and it said you should NEVER hit a man in his genitals, b/c a lot of times it will just piss him off even more, to the point he might KILL you. I read that women have been killed or severly beaten for doing that.

Hitting a man in his genitals will incapacitate him. It's an extremely sensitive part of the male anatomy. There's blood and nerves involved when the testicles are hit. Just lightly grabbing, or squeezing, the genitals will cause minor discomfort. Imagine getting direct hit to the groin area. I don't see a man recovering too quickly. It's a myth to think a man will experience no pain and just get upset.

Come off it, mate, it's just there for a good laugh. There is no serious implication behind that move. She wasn't giving him head, for God's sake, she was hitting him where it hurt, in self-defence.
And after all, in the end, it's just a fun romp of a film. -

This film is twenty years old people.
If someone had tried to kill me and one of my friends time and time again and then come to my office and tried to kill thirty of my work collegues I promise you faithfully if I had to bite his hur-hum to save myself and my friends I would.
I don't honestly think any court in the land would have a problem with it.
Plus on top the gentleman in question was an english double crossing spy on Amercian soil. Not really much of a case to support him is there.
If none of that gets you then how about the fact it is all make believe written in a time when we didn't all tip toe around because you might offend one nitwit in a thousend who has less common sense than a peanut.
It is not real. And after having a quick serch on the t'net I can find any reports of a wave of copy - cat style attacks being committed by people citing the film as their reason. -

Is this a serious conversation or am I allowed to laugh hysterically at the mental image of John Wood biting Whoopi's privates? Or rather, biting on her trousers on account of the fact that she (hopefully) has nothing bulging down there to bite on.

I can say IF Whoopi was the "bad person" and trying to kill her I wouldn't have a problem seeing him do whatever to her he needed to.
Like in the movie Miesry I had NO problem seeing Paul beat the hell out of Annie at the end, even though there were people whinning, "A man should NEVER hit a woman even if she's a psycho holdinghim hostage, breaking his legs and trying to kill him, he should do the MANLY thing and lay there and take it!!" lol

It really depends..
Lets say that Whoopi was holding a gun to John head and threatening to kill him - and he kneeded her in the groin or bit a breast..
There was noting sexual in the defence.. It was really a case of the most delicate thing within range to use.

Well said Faye!
It isnt real in the end, it was there for a laugh so you shouldn't take it seriously.
Like Faye said, If you where in a situation where you could be killed, it would be a wise thing to do, as I presume it would cause the man the worst pain ever.
It was in self defense too, so it was justified.
As far as him doing it to whoopi, well, er, it wouldn't really have the same effect would it? I mean, down there, use girls are not very, shall I say "External" we dont really have things sticking out, so I doubt a bite would work that much, especially with pants on.
Just get over it man, everyone else finds it funny. -

What the freak does that have to do with anything?
Yeah, double standards existbecause in the end men and women are different.
Women don't have anything to bite on, men do.
More men teachers have relations with their female students than women teachers have relations with their male students. Just like most (and I didn't say all) sex offenders are male, just like most (again, not all) sexual harassment is man to woman.
All in all, folks, it's just a freaking movie. Like someone said, they teach to hit there in self defense, because it locks men up. Women don't have the same effect when their private parts are battered upon (but yeah, it does hurt, guysdon't think it doesn't). -

Are people going to sue the producers of films like K-9 and Turner and Hooch because there are scenes where attack dogs bite men in the groin area? Egads.
I guess that should be filed as 'Kinky Bestiality Sexual Abuse by an Animal' and people would say; 'If a man bit a dog there, it wouldn't be funny! Double standard!'
Whatever. -

The bite would not have been effective BUT he could have bitten her on the boob, That is VERY painful I've heard.
I've heard a woman getting hit in the chest is about the equivalent to a man getting hit in the balls.
The OP brings up a good point, would it be funny the other way around.

Well now, let's see - the man whose winkie gets munched arranged to have the Whoopi Goldberg character kidnapped, drugged against her will, tortured and had every intention of killing her off as well once she cancelled the transmission. He was holding her against her will and inflicting pain on her, as well as threatening her with a weapon.
So, since she was pretty much helpless except for her teeth, and in a position where that was the part she could inflict the most pain upon, she defended herself in the only way available to her.
Oddly enough, there was a REAL LIFE case in New York not too long after this movie came out where a man raped a woman and then attempted to force her to perform oral sex on him. He had beaten her, abducted her and held her at knifepoint. When she had the opportunity, she bit his genitals completely OFF and then ran to the nearest police station.
Was anyone upset or rushing to defend the poor rapist who got emasculated? No - people wanted to give the woman a medal. Same kind of thing - you abuse someone enough, don't be surprised if they aren't particularly kind and gentle in defending themselves.
Johnrimmer, why not consider the fact that it's just a movie? Just repeat to yourself that it's not real.
