No, he has sex appeal and it was totally intentional by the filmmakers. He's holding a whip at one point for crying out loud!

I also would find it weird if someone watched this and didn't find him sexy. He's oozing sex appeal - in fact it's bubbling over more than that smelly pond they had to cross.
