Really bummed that the biggest and longest standing thread on this board has disappeared. So, I thought I'd start it aga

I agree with most of the other posters.. David Bowie is sexy! Especially in this movie. When I was a little kid I really wanted Sarah and Jareth to hook up. Now I realize that would be gross because she's so young.. but it still didn't keep me from daydreaming about it back then!

I don't think the idea of Sarah and Jareth being together is as disturbing as it could be, because Labyrinth is very much a fairy tale and you could say a character like Jareth is technically ageless compared to a normal human like Sarah.
A film like Labyrinth would never be made today with such a large age gap between the leading man and lady because people would just angrily dismiss it as peadophilia, which is frustrating. -

Cynical theory: Jareth is in a position of power, he's the king, that in itself is appealing, but the whole movie seems to be about a sexually inexperienced girl meeting a rich, tortured guy who seems to know about what sex is about and who at the end declares unconditional love to her.
Aren't those some of the elements that made Twilight and fifty shade of grey appealing to plenty of women? -

I keep hearing about his tight pants and his crotch etc. I guess I'm nave, but I never noticed it. I guess I was focused on his face and elegant long legs. Could someone please tell me what scene in the movie shows off his um, asset, the most so I can see what people are talking about? Btw, I'm not a kid, I'm a grandma who apparently needs glasses.

It's evident in practically every full-body shot. But you can start with the Magic Dance scene and the scene in the tunnel when Jareth throws off his disguise as a blind beggar.
I'm more drawn to the way he speaks in that low sultry voice of his, though. Yep. -

I posted this somewhere, so just sharing:
"In addition to his absolutely wonderful singing voice, David/Jareth's normal speaking voice has a low sultry timbre that's always modulated and beautifully nuanced. He hardly raises his voice but could convey so much authority, menace or emotion in one smooth, articulate sentence. The moment he says, "Sarah" about 10 minutes into the film, I started having funny feelings. By the time he says, "Let's see how you deal with this little slice," I had to get a glass of water. I was only 11 at that time. "
I'm usually immune to celebrity farewells, but losing two artists I've admired for most of my life in a span of days makes it a bit hard to breathe
Anyway, here are some videos.
Magic Dance -
(added props that I think he's singing live to a baby and a roomful of muppets. Bowie also does the baby gurgles. And yeah, I dig a man who can dance and do baby gurgles.)
