If you consider this the worst movie of all time, then you haven't seen a whole lot of movies I reckon
I actually enjoyed it. Somehow it carried the spirit of an old-timer, just as it should for a movie made back in '86. -

If you think this movie was too much gore than you shouldn't be watching horror films. Granted there are many films more technically accomplished and tastefully done than Overdrive but you should see what most gore buffs watch. Too much terror? Maximum Overdrive is a throwback to the EC Comics and Weird Fantasy stories that King loved as a kid as well as science fiction/horror hybrids such as Theodore Sturgeon's 1944 classic Killdozer. If you don't have your tongue firmly planted in-cheek, you lose alot of what this film has to offer.

It's not great, but it's far from the worst I've ever seen. It did have a few genuinely funny moments. As a movie, I'd probably give it 2 out of 5.
But, because it has a soundtrack by AC/DC, it gets 6 out of 5. -

You havent seen very many bad movies, have you? And too much gore? Sure the gore is pretty high I suppose, but there is barely enough gore for it to be considered a gorefest. If the gore in this movie offended you, than I can only imagine your reactions to The Evil Dead, The Thing, Cannibal Holocaust, or Braindead.
I have El Sonoma del Torra de Fiero Syndrome. Be happy you don't.
Trust me. -

This is a typical King classic of all times. To me its one of Kings better movies especially since its not like 20 hours long as so many of his are that way. You have to remember to that this movie was made in the mid 80's and special effects were not like they are now. I rarely see this movie on tv anymore and I am DVR'ing it right now. Its actually the first time I am seeing it without it being so censored to death. I love this movie and it just never gets old to me.

You saw this movie for the first time 3 years before you posted this topic? Most people saw it 20 years before you, meaning you're a kid. If you were around when this movie came out, you'd realize that this movie is AWESOME.

No, this movie is godawful. It's an hour and a half, but really does feel like three. Especially because of King's "campy" attitude nothing ever seems to be at stake and so it just drones on and on. Just a bunch of stuff blowing up. And who in the right mind would hire Yeardly Smith and tell her to be as annoying and whiny as possible?
