I think a melon flew through the window and killed someone. I'm not sure why a melon would break through a window. Melon.
      Some more melons.
      And a melon.

Not to long ago here in Trivia, or somewhere I read members of AC/DC were on the boat in the water during the filming, or the pier/bank.

During the bridge scene, you can see a van with the AC/DC logo.

I like how the guy in the tow truck stops and looks and says, "what the fuhk?"

The whole bridge scene to open up the movie is awesome.
It gives you a sense of eerie things happening.
I could only imagine a remake that they could perfect this with a lot more destruction, damage, & bloody scenes if people were really stuck on a bridge going up. But for its time and budget it was
                    really
well done. That's one of the best scenes in the whole movie.

I think it was also in part a nod to a previous Stephen King movie ("The Cat's Eye") which was also filmed on that same bridge and involved a scene where traffic is stopped while the drawbridge goes up.

Low budget? $10million in 1986 was defiantly not a low budget movie, especially for a moron "B" movie. The top movie of 1986 was Top Gun and it had a $15million budget.

Its my favorite scene, absurd and very well done! Does any one know if it was all real, or did they use miniatures in some parts (like the truck falling down)?
Also, I dont know how truck works but if your wheels are burning rubber and connect with something I dont think they just disconect from the truck 🙂

That opening bridge sequence was really well done.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.
