I too liked that song, I never knew it was from this movie though.
I think there could have been a bit more variety to the soundtrack at times, especially during the final battle, but what they did have was good.

My favourite theme has always been 'River,' which hits its zenith in 'Miserere.' But I agree, it'sn incredible score from start to finish, one of the most beautiful scores Morricone has ever composed.
This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.

''Gabriel's Oboe'' is one of the most breathtakingly beautiful melodies I've ever heard. It was played when we carried my grandfathers coffin out of the church, and it was such a powerful moment, grief blended with awe and appreciation of a beautiful piece of music. ''Gabriel's Oboe'' represents for me feeling of loss, but yet hopefulness.

I'm sure that Falls has been used on other film trailers- any ideas?

Agree. One of the most haunting piece of score ever composed for a film. The AMPAS laid an egg by not rewarding Morricone with a much deserved Oscar.

I looooved the music, it told me what to feel amid the blank stares and hokey symbolism.

                        ^^ tough critic.
Morricone is a genius, we all know that.

Yes he finally got his Oscar - should have won his first years and years ago, but we all know Morricone is the Greatest with or without the Award, don't we!
