According to Reiner and Wheaton, River Phoenix lost his virginity while filming this movie. So, somewhere out there in Oregon is a girl who, when she watches STAND BY ME, it has an entirely different meaning. She has quite a story to tell her friends (I assume she doesn't tell her kids about it).

River was born in 1970, and filming of this movie was done in the summer of 1985, so River was close to 15 already. Plenty old enough to have had Willy Whiskers for a while. Kids that were 13 had them already which was obvious when we had to shower after gym Class in Jr High school. -

Dang, I didn't get a repulsed or laugh out loud response at my childish talk post. Okay, makes sense about his age. But I remember junior high in the early 1980's, half us were baldies or just starting
Actually i did laugh, but since i know that a lot of people here may not have known the real ages of the actors at filming time, I was just informing everyone that River was the oldest on the set. and unless he was like kids today are ( according to news articles I have read in health sections of papers) and shaved his Netherlands as apparently alot of kids do today because they think its gross having pubes, then he surely had some whiskers down there.
