Gary Riley as Charlie Hogan. There was nothing about him whatsoever that said "JD" or "tough guy". He was great as Dave in "Summer School" but this was not his shtick at all, especially with so many scenes opposite Casey Siemaszko, who completely sold it for me.
I also thought they wussed out by changing the storyline from the novella, in which adult Gordie reveals that
Chris, Teddy and Vern ALL died young.
That would have created a bigger and better impact than "Vern had a shtload of kids and Teddy spent time in jail."
Saying "I apologize" is the same as saying "I'm sorry." Except at a funeral. -

1.Kids kept getting wet, even falling into some pond and are always dry one minute later.
t woudl take them at lest a day in middle fo teh summer to dry their stuff.
2. Ending seems rushed.
3. The bad boys werent that bad, but some of the stuff they did would get them arrested, no way you are running a truck off the road and get away with it. -

I like this movie but don't love it. It's overall boring. The Lardass puking story scene is the best part of the movie to me. It has a look like it's in the South and I'm not a big fan of the South so that turned me off to it. I know it's in Oregon but it sure looks like Mississippi. It's funny to be that picky but I feel the same way about E.T., I like that movie just don't love it like so many other people do. If I watch that or SBM today it's only for nostalgia purposes.
