Thoughts On Star Trek: Deep Space Nine?

DS9 didn't suck, it just wasn't that great. Its main characters didn't measure up to either of TOS' or TNG's big three.
Eh, I'm going to disagree.
Yes, Kirk, Spock and McCoy are great iconic characters made memorable through the great chemistry between the three actors, but throughout their tv show, they never really experienced any development. It was only in the films, they changed as characters.
Picard and Data were both great, however I felt the rest of the TNG crew were kinda underwritten. Worf was cool, but better realized on DS9. Geordie was a likable character but didn't do much other than spout technobabble. Same with Riker. Troi and Dr. Crusher were just
there
. Finally, while Picard and Data were memorable, they never developed over the course of seven seasons. Like the main trio from TOS, they only got some character development in their feature films.
DS9 had a much richer cast of characters to follow and that's why I found the show much more compelling than TNG.
Sisko was a complex character with conflicts between raising his son, dealing with the loss of his wife and leading a station. Kira was a strong leader with her own complexities. Quark was memorable with his criminal behavior, yet would choose to do right in the end. Worf fit in with the show's cast of aliens and he plays a big role with the Klingon War. Odo, Garak, Dukat, Kai Winn and the rest all added to this rich universe of complex characters. Everybody played a role in the overall story and each changed from start to finish. -

Much richer cast? Their most interesting character in the main cast was Quark, the Ferengi bartender. They had to rely heavily on recurring characters because the main cast wasn't that interesting. And the problem with that is with each character having less time, you didn't get to see much of your favorites. Better to have three really interesting characters that get a lot of screen time. My favorite characters were Quark, Garak, and Weyoun.

Yes,
much
richer cast. I thought all the main characters - Sisko, Kira, Quark, Odo, Worf, Jadzia, O'Brien and Bashir - were well-portrayed by their actors/actresses and each had some great storylines. They featured a list of supporting characters because DS9 took place on a space station and it was a show that explored each alien culture in more detail than the other Trek shows, so it made sense to have a big ensemble cast. DS9 was made more compelling by having some of the characters have shady personalities like Quark and Garak as it showed that nobody is perfect even in the Trek universe.
While Picard and Data were great, neither of them really changed as characters throughout TNG's entire run. I liked how in DS9 every character changed from start to finish and how each of them played a role within the epic storyline. -

No one remembers any characters in DS9. The two most famous DS9 characters are ones that were in TNG first like O'Brien and Worf. Get outta here!

CJ, I am getting fed up of your biased anti-DS9 rants, and am honestly thinking about Ignoring you. Oh wait, I
did
, yesterday morning, but your posts still showed up as (blank), so I guess I have to put up with your childish behaviour.
Why are you here if you haven't seen the movie yet? -

Unless you wanna see a million blanks after your posts. Lol. You're being childish. Putting someone on ignore because they don't like the same things you do. What are you, 5?

I've seen your list of Top 10 TV shows, and frankly, almost NONE of them would I give a second, or even first, look. They just don't interest me. TNG is possibly the only exception. But how come you like such old TV shows like Columbo? How old ARE you? I'm 44, BTW.

Because old tv shows are good, and most new tv shows are garbage. There's several newer shows I enjoy. Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Modern Family for example. But, as great as they are, they can't compare to Cheers or All in the Family. Columbo might be the greatest detective series of all time. Peter Falk won 4 Emmys for the role over the course of like 30 years. The A-team is Damn entertaining. Sounds to me, you have horrible taste in tv shows. Most, if not all of mine are considered classics.

That's rich Leo. The little turd makes fun of Foe for putting people on ignore but yet he whines and cries about other people's posts but yet here's a copy of his meltdown from last year on the Halloween Board:
No no no. Nobody deserves what I'm getting. I call someone a dope, or a moron, because we have a disagreement, and that gives them the right to post my Facebook page and call me names based on my pictures which aren't true anyway? Retarded looking, and fat and the like? I don't think so. You know what's sad?
I just added two more people to my ignore list
, one from the Rocky board and one from the Halloween ll board here, and
that makes 27 asswholes I've had to put on ignore
because they just got too overwhelming with their hate for me, and I couldn't stand it anymore.

Ask him why he so many people on ignore. -

How little you interact with me? Lol!!! That's the biggest laugh I've had all week. You stalk me at like 4 or 5 different boards. You interact with me constantly.
