The article basically confirms what Shatner's Chaos On The Bridge already mentioned.GR may be the creator of Star Trek but nothing story or production wise Gene was an ideas man he came up with the concept of Star Trek but wasn't responsible for what made the show enduring it was all those producers, writers, actors and directors who are responsible for the succes of Star Trek and what became the foundations of a franchise.

I don't thick he was a hack. He was a decent writer, just in desperate need of a editor. He needed someone to point out his shortcomings, which leads us to his insecurity. You tell him no or that idea won't work, he'd get really defensive. Plus he was the creator of the show and at the time who know who the creators of tv shows were. But you knew him, like most insecure people they're attention whores and have to have all the credit. Everybody knew is a misogynist, even on that documentary, they introduce that one woman as his assistist and mistress, FOR 14 YEARS!

I had to look this up to get her name right. Susan Sackett was not his mistress for 14 years, but actually 17 YEARS! I stand corrected, but it's because of the shoes I wear. Majel had to know. TNG crew had to know. Probably the only one who didn't know was me.

Maybe he was all ugly and old by then and Majel didn't even want him touching her anymore.
So she had tons of money, a nice car, could go shopping and out to expensive lunches, live in a mansion and didn't have to have some ugly old dude touching all over her all the time!!!!

During TOS he had at least three/four women Nichols,Barrett,Fontana and the previous mentioned dame Gene was doing some going boldly where no man had gone before himself during that period. It's a good thing he wasn't bisexual otherwise he would have had Takei as well.

No he was the producer of the show still married ,with four women on the side plus the stories of the casting couch(of which Grace Lee Whitney became a victim). He eventually divorced but a studio exec. remembers walking in on Gene and Nichols(who according him was barely dressed and Gene was sort of amused by the whole awkward situation).Misogynistic perhaps probably a sociopath and narcissist.

He got all the women because he we wealthy and could get them into acting on his show.
Happens all the time. I think it may have even been more prevalent back in the 60's and 70's.
