If they remade, who would you cast as Ben?

If they were going to make a movie based on the actual Bachman (King) book (I think "reboot" fits better than "remake"), then I guess I would agree with casting an unknown. If not, Cillian Murphy would do an excellent job as he comes across as very sharp and has the same scrawny physique as Richards from the book.
For the charismatic Killian (who if I remember the novel right was a black man), I would probably go with Isaiah Washington or Dennis Haysbert. Just as an aside. -

I agree with Gerard Butler as Richards; Clive Owen would also be an interesting choice as Richards. When I first read the Running Man in the mid 80's I envisioned Mel Gibson as Richards, but he is too old now. I would also like to see this remade, but following the book, although I'm not sure if they would do the plane flying into the skyscraper ending.

I generally abhor remakes but this movie has little in common with the original book that I would love to see somebody take a whack at this one again. I thought the Ahnold movie was a great action film, but would love to see a faithful remake of Bachman's book.

Killian - Dennis Haysbert or Don Cheadle
McCone - Charles Dance
Ben Richards - probably best to find a young unknown. If a name is needed I agree with whoever said Guy Pierce although he may be a bit old
Amelia - tough one - maybe Michelle Williams -

As a Religious reader of the Bachman Books, his most brilliant and sadistic work, in my humble opinion, you need either an unknown actor, OR one that can play someone who is OUT OF HIS FRICKING MIND! Ben Richards in the book is one that is first, just desperate for money to help his daughterbut look at his answers and attitudehe is a little, nay, a lot out of his mind. There is an underlying mental issue in him, that is not addressed in the book. They would have to be a little eccentric, I always imagined a little jumpy in the movements. I am a huge fan of Nicholas Cage, but he would not fit. Nor would Damon, Arnold, The Rockif they were younger, I would most certainly suggest Mel Gibson, for his wonderful performance in the Conspiracy Theory.

Bruce Willis would have been great for this part if this movie has his remake 10 years agoall the one-liners that sounded silly coming out of Arnold's mouth would have been hilarious coming out the master of cynicism, Bruce Willis.
I wrote the greatest quote in movie history!
