Can't agree there. It's got some great jokes that still land nearly 40 years later. Heck, just the fact that they parody the Jaws theme for Spaceballs 1 is great. And of course the Han Solo parody being dressed like Indiana Jones. Brilliance. Sheer, unadulterated brilliance.

For 30 years I missed the wardrobe joke. I only recently caught it because I was rewatching it, and I noticed when Lone Star first appears, he's wearing a cowboy hat; I thought, "I wonder if that's parodying Harrison Ford wearing a cowboy hat in American Graffiti." And then I noticed the rest of his outfit and realized it was actually Indiana Jones. I just burst out laughing.
And yes, Barf was great. One of John Candy's best roles. He made a great sidekick for Lone Star.

This is way the **** better and more entertaining than the bore fest 2001: A Spaced Out Travesty.
