That was my point when I asked if I could bring my record player and my 45s…
It was a joke. a stab at humor, and obviously not a very good attempt.
I haven't had a record player or any records in a number of years. I believe we got rid of the records about 10 years ago.
That isn't to say that people still don't have those things. In fact, they have made a comeback. Players and records are sold in stores once again. People are nostalgic for them.
I hope that this has helped in some way.

Whoa! That's quite a collection! i thought that we had a library! We only had about half that!
Oh! I remember it so well! The anticipation of the next new album by your favorite band or singer was agony. Once you got it in your hot little hands, you couldn't wait to get it home and play it.
Our son took many of our records when he moved out years ago. He still has them, but he put them in frames and hung them in his media room. They really are works of art.

While I like being able to listen to anything I like on the internet, I do find it sad that the record is considered just a silly novelty now.
There is something to be said for the internet. I can find some pretty obscure music that I didn't think I'd ever hear again just by typing the name of the song. I'm constantly amazed. I found one old song I remembered from my childhood. My parents had the old 75 and it was a song we all use to sing on long car rides.
Talk about nostalgia!

I thought so too, when I typed it. I had visions of spinning records and curling each other's hair!

I have to say that I didn't know for sure if he knew what a record player and 45's were. I was curious. Most younger people have an idea.
