What's a knockout like you doing in a computer-generated gin joint like this?

Hard to argue. One of my earliest childhood memories was seeing this in theaters and thinking it was a odd piece of crap. I couldnt get over nuclear man's fingernails. Seeing it again now hasn't changed my mind. I realize special fx were very primitive in 1987, but i've certainly seen more impressive stuff from this era than this hunk of junk. the flying scenes are pretty silly looking and it's incredible that something so unbelievably dorky came only 2 years before something so incredibly cool looking(batman)came out

If you read the Wikipedia article you'll learn that there were good special effects in those days. It was the company, Cannon, that was about to go bankrupt and they had more than 30 other projects at the same time and decided not to spend one more penny on this movie. That was a stupid decision, I think, but it has nothing to do with the state of art of FX in those days. Alson I don't accept the idea that the screenwriters weren't responsible. There were some terrible and stupid ideas.

LAZY is the perfect word. In every facet of the movie, they just did not care. I lasted 20 minutes. It's definitely not one of those 'so bad it's good' movies. It's just plain bad.

Agreed. This movie sucked more than the high school whore behind the dumpster on prom night.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

I disagree that it was lazy filmmaking. Their budget was slashed.
So many stories, so little time.
