Archived from the IMDb Discussion Forums — Superman IV: The Quest for Peace

I noticed that Margot Kidder's makeup and hairstyle is more heavily applied and very similar to Talia Shire's look in Rocky III. Same skin tone as well as hairstyle. What did you think of her look in this movie compare to her other Superman looks?

Her make-up, her fashion sense, her hair her sassyness was completely lost on this film, i'm no director or producer but when they put this POS together did they not see how they would be taming the once beautifully sexy Kidder in SI and SII??

You're absolutely correct. I just made this point in another thread.
Take a look at how Kidder looks in a film called "Vanishing Acts", which she did just a year prior to Superman IV:

She looks almost exactly as lovely as she did in Superman I.

That's incredible. How did she let her looks slide so radically?

It's not her, though. She looks bad in Superman III, which was filmed four years before those scenes I just posted from Vanishing Act. It's the makeup/hair/wardrobe/lighting that they used in III, and to a lesser extent IV.
This is how Kidder looked during the promo for IV. Note that she looks much better than she did in the film here as well:

She should have kept the black hair instead of the brown color.
She looked very hot on the 1987 Letterman show.

LOL at that clip. Poor Margot having to go on and attempt to sell what she knew was a botched film 'its a good movie..uh yeah'

Yeah saw that how true and embarrasing for her. Christopher Reeve also
