During at night Is anyone else frightened by the theme music?

I grew up watching episodes throughout the '90s on Lifetime when I'd be home sick from school, and I've always been utterly fascinated by the show. I'm sad they took it off the air, especially since so many of these cases profiled on the show were never solved (and the ones that were could use a closure announcement tacked onto the end). It's dated, sure, but the original run of the series with Robert Stack is forever ingrained in my mind. Just thinking about some of the episodes and the theme song gives me goosebumps. My stepdad actually downloaded hundreds of episodes of the show and burned them onto DVD-Rs for me one Christmas a few years back. I've still not finished all of them, but it's nice to be able to watch the episodes in their original form (provided I have the guts to do it watching it late at night still screws me up, and I'm 25 years old).

This show scares me in the light of day.

When I was 13 I started staying home alone during the day and I would watch the older episodes in the morning. Those were so much scarier than the "newer" ones. One episode was about a woman looking in the mirror and her eyes were all back. I was freaked out for weeks to look in the mirror after that! Lol

Definitely - Unsolved Mysteries has the coolest theme music.
Especially the early Robert Stack series.
Sounds like they re-recorded it for the Dennis Farina run.
It sounds like John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN theme.

Shoot, it doesn't even have to be at nightthe music has always freaked me out! When I would be home for the summer in high school, I'd watch reruns on Lifetime and that music made me kind of jumpy! HAHA

Yeah, the music was spooky. The revamped show (with Dennis Farina) has some odd sound effects in the theme (sounds like a hubcap rolling on the pavement or something).

Yes. Just thinking about it is creeping me out. His voice and that music are forever ingrained in my mind. I too watched it on my sick days from school. I made sure the cordless phone was next to me and refused to open the door for anyone.
