At the time being about 20 years of age I didn't give much, if any, thought to the antics of inspector Callahan and just went with it, however, now I must admit I find many of his actions distasteful.
Quite a number of times he dispatches an individual when they pose little or no threat: at the end of this film he harpoons the suspect after informing him he's out of ammunition and could quite easily have apprehended him.
I'm no PC, bleeding heart liberal but I suppose its a case of becoming wiser and leaving the impectuity of youth behind?
