This movie wasn't funny…

Yes, this is film is not very funny. Humour just too obvious, predictable situations, vulgar slapstick and visual gags. Generally aimed at low- or middlebrow audiences, like most film comedies - because that's where the money is.
It's significant that people abuse those who don't like this film by saying they must prefer even more lowbrow comedies. No, we hate those even more than this. We prefer cleverer comedy. -

I love it. Your doing a parody of Otto, thats brilliant. Thinking he is smart and not getting the point of any of it. As if something has to be clever to be funny. Clever sure that works too, but funny just like beauty comes in many forms and if you put it in a box like this you'll miss the point completely.
If I see someone run through a screen door that they don't see, I laugh. The shock value of their reaction alone is worth a laugh, not to mention my own surprise of what I didn't expect to see. Nothing clever about it, but it's funny. Sometimes life is worth laughing at. If you only enjoy humour in one form, I truly feel sorry for you, there is nothing clever about denying yourself a chance to laugh at something stupid once in a while. -

I disagree, and think it's hilarious.
But I would like to say thanks for not saying "This movie was the most unfunny thing I've ever seen" or "the worst movie I've ever seen" etc etc.
People do that too often on these boards when they just don't like something. It's annoying.
Jim Carrey had me in stitches! On the contrary, everyone was! -

People only get mad at others about their grammar is because that is where they can feel superior over you.I dont worry about my grammar, dont worry about your grammar, it takes most people on the internet to type three sentences in a meticulous fashion maybe a hour and a half while others like yourself whip it up in only thirty seconds probably, I could watch all of The Pink Panther in the length of time it takes someone to type a message on this board on IMDb..I guess in all it is something to think about!

I actually have a bit of a stutter myself and I wasn't offended at all by the movie. But I can see where you're coming from, q-taran, and I also agree with your comment about how a weakness like that can make them one of the best characters. Ken also overcomes his stutter in the end, so that makes it much more enjoyable (for me, anyway).

Actually, Ira Zimmerman, president of the National Stuttering Project, sent a letter of commendation to Michal Palin after this movie was released for raising awareness of the plight of those who stutter worldwide. This prompted Palin to later open the "Michael Palin Center for Stammering Children" in London. Insult to stutterers? Hardly.

I'm just throwing this in to mmagbee-1 chill dude!!! I hope you have some nice friends out there, otherwise the world may just be in trouble!
You are defending a classic comedy (yes, it is one of my favourite films - and I rate it one of the funniest I have seen) by writing comments that make you seem one very humourless, bitter and down-right nasty little person!? Not a good way to argue, my friend. And attacking people's names is childish in the extreme - when you leave school you may realise this. -

You know why nowadays comedies are not funny anymore? Because any joke they try will offend some category of people. So they are left with no choices but to be bland and boring. Why don't spanish people start a campaign to ban "Fawlty Towers" because it has immigrant jokes in it? It's just comedy, take a chill pill guys!

A few things.
Yes, I think the movie is utterly hilarious and cannot understand anyone who doesn't, but "Chacun a son gout." I mean, I personally think Frasier, Friends and Seinfeld are grindingly unfunny TV shows.
Also, I thought it was actually Palin himself that had the stutter, maybe I heard it wrong?
