When officer Mooney called Debbie a tramp why didnt Dave or Mike stick up for her? They just sat there lookin stupid. That right there should have shown her both guys were not worth dating.

We also heard plenty of lip from anyone, and back then we'd let it go Those of us that grew up in the 80's still held true to the mantra "Stick and stones may hurt my bones, but names will hurt me." Then about 1991 - 1992 that seemed to nearly all change. Went to college and came back with the world upside down. Where women who burn themselves can sue the people that gave them the coffee!? And people call 911 because McDonalds is out of McNuggets. And people wake up in the morning, hoping to 'accidentally' let someone hit them from behind while taking a turn to make it look like it was the person driving behind fault(as it always is) and claim 'no insurance' and buy a new car out of it. I am NOT kidding. Because it was such a popular event in the 90's, my State finally made it law EVERYONE has to have car insurance to avoid this. I remember someone I worked with was excited they were going to buy a new car, because someone 'accidentally' hit them from behind (in a curve) and she had no insurance.
Something akin to that happened to me a few years ago but now insurance is mandated right? Well, the person infront of me kept slowing and slowing took her time going left. The light was green. I was just going straight and then I bumped her. But we were going SO SLOW there was NO damage. And the local city 'help', not really police asked the woman in the car in front of me (who never got out of her car btw) is she was ok. She made a phone call, and that was it. We agreed the damage was SO minimal the police were not called. I seriously think she was so distraught I didn't hit her HARD enough to warrant calling the police she never got out of the car. And then as I drove on I noticed had she kept going the angle she was going, she WOULD have hit them head on, on the left of us in the wrong lane of traffic! But they were long gone after I bumped her I can't tell you any more details than that, because I be 'called' something but, hey it is TRUE. Like I said, was a COMMON occurance and the reason why car insurance was finally forced on EVERYONE with a vehicle! Because if you were in front with no insurance the person behind (at fault or not, WITH insurance) HAD to pay.
(sorry soapbox)
