so i was at my work a couple days ago and i saw this guy wearing a a nightmare on elm street 4 the dream master shirt. so cool! it is my favorite a nightmare on elm street film, of course a lot of it's greatness is bc of the year it was made 1988 which was a banner year for horror movies and when they were very entertaining and fast paced.
so it had these big screencap frame images of freddy in different scenes. they have him doing different things. it reminded me of why the anoes films are so great. they are so great primarily bc of the visual ideas and set pieces of the dreams, the artisticness and creativity of these visual ideas of the dream worlds is astounding and very satisfying as you watch these movies in a movie watching entertainment way.
they had to think of what the world looks like so they put blobs materials i them bc this is what people dream it's all very imaginary and ambiguous. they also had to think of what happens in the dream worlds and who is in them. some of the dreams seem and appear waking dream so a combination of dream and reality. ad that is vey fascinating bc as a movie watcher that is a dream where you can't tell if it's a dream or reality. the anorexic girl in part 5 is this way. she was eating a meal with her parents and freddy stuffs food in her mouth. that acene is very surreal and imaginative.
getting back to the ideas in this series so they had to also make the special effects look realistic and dreamlike. and they always made these dream world scenes realistic, perfect and very satisfying.
the other thing i thought when i looked at this guy's images of freddy on this shirt is the way they made freddy look was always so epically great. his face always looked so vibrant and hugely great in a movie way.
don't you marvel at how great all of these things are in this series?
