I love both of them. Part 3 has the better story, writing, characters, and more creative death sequences. But Part 4 is one of the most entertaining of the series. It's just a fun film all the way around. Other than the remake there is no Nightmare on Elm Street film I dislike.

Both are great, but I narrowly prefer part 3 for its tension and suspense. Part 4 seems like it was inspired by the Die Hard/Lethal Weapon types of films that were happening at that time and played more into 'action,' which was fine. Again, both are great.

Part 3 is better, mostly for the better plot and I love the hospital setting as well. 4 on the other hand has the better heroine, better soundtrack and better ending, so its a close call between the two of them.

            I like part 4 better
most fans will disagree with me but Dream warriors was one of my least favorite in the series. Nancy got a really lame death

I thought they were on the same level (4/10).

I like 3 a bit better, not by much, but 4 is one that is certainly watchable and enjoyable. Certainly better than 5.

Part 4 is my favorite sequel. Everyone seems to love part 3 the most but I've never been that big of a fan of part 3.

Ultimately, I like "Dream Warriors" better. It really opened up the world for what potential the dreamers had to combat Freddy, it developed Freddy in more ways that made him even more vile than sympathetic and, even though this is where they started going overboard with the "zingers", this is where he started becoming the most evil.
"The Dream Master" adds one of the best characters in the whole franchise - Alice - has an incredible soundtrack that holds up and the makeup work set a standard for what could be accomplished in legit horror cinema (something "Hellhound: Hellraiser II" further strengthened).
                      "KatTS" / "KoC" / "DP" / "SAM" / "K"

No. You are not the only one. I loved 4. Alice was my favourite character and I know a lot of other Horror fans that liked 4 more than any of the other Nightmare On Elm Street movies too. 3 was my second favourite and I guess you could say I liked all the Nightmare movies in the original series but I was really disappointed with 6 getting rid of Alice 'cause I think they could have done a third movie with her.

Dream Warriors had the perfect balance for scary/pun happy Freddy. The overall atmosphere was great. Part 4 was like it was made by MTV. Freddy was a joke. Ive always hated part 4 for turning him into a joke.

Freddy became none scary in dream warriors the only difference is his comedy in that one was slightly darker but he was not scary in dream warriors freddy also wasnt a joke in dream master either there is a difference between laughing at someone then with the only movie that makes freddy a joke is freddys dead. An if you talking about freddy being funny that started in 3 the freddy tv death is just a silly as anything in dream master freddy being a talk show host is just as silly also a killer skeleton was very silly as was whats wrong joy felling tongue tied lol freddy became none scary dude in 3 the only film he was actually scary in any way was the first he was creepy in 2 but never scary. Part four was meant as a popcorn movie not a horror movie an if thats why you hate it thats very shallow because as i said freddy wasnt scary in dream warriors an he was ever only scary in the first there isnt anything wrong with funny freddy as long as the jokes are done well
