Last night, and thought it was terrific.
One thought occurred to me, and I was wondering if anyone else wondered about this
It is never established in the story, but do you think it possible that Bart was actually Youk's father? -

I don't think so. He was just basicly that Batman to his Robin. I think the story works better in the fact that he's not his father. Youk is orphaned and alone, but finds a friend and mentor in the most unlikely place. Really is a beautiful story and even moreso as a film. It's actually so beautiful it's hard to watch because I get choked up everytime I do.

I agree. I had only watched a scene from this last year on YouTube, but was so moved by it, that I always had wanted to watch the whole movie. I finally rented it from Netflix a couple of weeks ago.
Beautiful movie. -

I actually own the movie on DVD. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the transfer because it's in fullscreen and not widescreen. I was hoping that there would be an U.S. Blu Ray release as I think the clarity would suit the beautiful scenery of the film. Yes indeed it's a very moving film. The title music score is epic. I become tearful and have cold chills during the final moments of the movie where Bart makes his appearance scaring off the cougar from attacking Youk. It's one of those jump out of your chair moments where you wanna just scream "Hell yeah!"
