I always thought Leon had been killed by Ursula and in the opening and closing scenes it was Pin sitting in the chair and he looked like Leon because he had been made up by Ursula to resemble her dead brother (although the face looked too perfect to be artificial). I never understood how Pin could cry in the final scenenow everything's clear.
snickers Dude, I just Words fail me, seriously. Take a couple film analysis classes or re-watch the confusing bits before posting
Duncan MacLeod: You're an ahole.
Methos: I never said I was deep. -

Well like I mentioned in a few other posts and like what the other poster said, you can take it the another way to. Usuala killed her brother and is keeping him alive by putting his face on Pin. When "Pin" talked it sounded like a femiine voice to me so that's why I assumed it was Usuala talking for Pin now. She could have easily went nuts too. It is possible, Why are people so sure that it is Leon for real dressed as Pin at the end? That's the way I took it.

For one thing, the opening and closing scenes take place in the same time period. The little boy who climbs up to the window at the beginning sees David Hewlett's face behind the curtain, and he blinks.
At the end, he cries. So, obviously, it's Leon, because Leon is alive, unlike the plastic dummy.

It clearly shows Leon's face and he's crying! How was that confusing to you at all? There are things that can be interpreted in this movie. But the FACT that it was Leon as Pin at the end is not disputable. He even had a nurse there taking care of him.
Its likely when Ursula took a swing at him with the axe, she made him a paraplegic or even a quadriplegic, and thats why he was motionless from the head down in the wheelchair.
ITS OBVIOUS PEOPLE. Unless you were watching it on a 13 inch black and white TV, you would clearly see it was Leon at the end, and not Pin.
They mostly come out at night; mostly. -

For real! Are you seriously asking this question? I just saw this movie for the first time and loved it, but can't believe you asked this question. Watch the end again if you haven't already. It's not pin, it's Leon

How do you know that for sure though? How do you know Ursuala didn't kill Leon and put his face on Pin? It's possible that she went nuts and deveopled a split personality like her brother isn't it? I always took it as she put Leon's face on Pin and is in denial ablout killing him, so she keeps him alive by making the dummy become her brother and beleiving he's alive.

The axe scene was intentionally meant to mislead the viewer into believing that Ursula killed leon. She did not. She destroyed Pin. A cut off face on a dummy would not cry, and a hired nurse would definitely not stick around. Most likely she would get the hell out of there and call the police. -

I did not read the other comments so sorry if this has been answered for you.
When his sister came in with the axe, she destroyed Pin. The scene leads us to believe that she meant to harm or even kill her brother. Afterward, because Pin is destroyed, Leon (who cannot cope without Pin) takes on the role of Pin. Pin was an extension of Leon (who suffered from a mental illness, probably Schizophrenia) the entire time.
I believe that Leon may have done his own makeup and coif, as he apparently fixed and added on to Pin's features later on. But Leon was wealthy, so we can also assume it was done for him..
Another outcome could be that he really did become the mannequin in the literal sense. I've seen many horror films and tv shows (Twilight Zone comes to mind) in which characters literally become dolls. Pin may have even been real. In the later scenes Leon's mouth never moves when Pin is talking.
However, it seems more likely to me that Leon became Pin out of the psychological need to do so.
