Oh gawd i moaned when she said that when i first watched the movie back in 88
      when it originally aired
I felt sorry enough that Maureen had to say that line..i wonder if she got sick when she first read that line in the script..she should have said if you want me to say that line how about a couple extra thousand bucks in my check
Then I wonder if they were sorta poking at the Dont Worry Be Happy catchphrase that so popular in 88

That line WAS particularly cheesy - even by "BRADY standards" I never liked any of the interaction between Marcia and Jan and those two oddballs they married.

I agree. Even as a litytle girl watching BRADY BRIDES I totally never believed Marcia and Jand would date those two losers, let alone marry them!
We never rally got a good look at the guys Jan dated in high school but we saw Marcias and its pretty safe to assume that Marcia wouldnt end up with a "Wally"!

That line sounds like a line Michelle Tanner would've said from "Full House".

Not only that, it's just bad advice.

"The Brady Bunch" was well known for corny punchlines. I thought Ann B. Davis had a great delivery for them.

                  Corny even by Brady standards!
The other overboard "funny" lines were when Mike was reading aloud the "Dear John" letter that Sam left Alice. "I lied to you - I was not working late seasoning rump roasts." "At first, we just exchanged meatloaf recipes." "I fell for her like a pound of ground chuck." (I still don't know what the heck THAT means!)
Then when Alice goes to retrieve her bags, Carol says to Mike, "I'm shocked. They always went together like liver and onions."
OK - WE GET IT! SAM'S A BUTCHER!! Talk about hitting the audience over the head with that.

I would be inclined to say Marcia wouldn't date a goofball but she did fall for Harvey Klinger.
I guess she got tired of pretty boys like Warren Mulaney and Doug Simpson.

If you see Jerry Houser in his tight jeans in his brief role as Mark's friend on One Day at a Time you will see how he keeps Marcia quite satisfied.
