Cindy graduating college??

I don't think Math is a problem in this show. You are just assuming that Bobby and Cindy followed the "traditional" path of college. Who says that Cindy even went to college straight through? Maybe she transferred a couple of times or changed her major? It makes sense that she would be going away to college in 1981, during the Brady Brides, which would make her 18 (considering she was 6 during the first season). Maybe she took some time off in between to figure out what she was doing. Not everyone graduates college when they are 22. Graduating at 25 is completely and entirely possible and acceptable. I also don't remember any mention of Cindy's age during that movie.
Also, dfortier5, you made a comment about graduating in mid-year. Most colleges and universities have graduations after each semester, so it's very possible that she could be graduating in December, after the Fall Semester.
The same thing can be said about Bobby regarding his age and still being in school. I think they made a reference to him being in grad school, which is entirely possible at the age of 26.
So, there really is no math problem with the Brady's, unless you consider Mike saying that they've been married for 20 years instead of 19. Maybe they started filming that pilot (or wrote the script) in 1968 and it aired in 1969. It's not a big deal. -

Okay, can anyone answer if they actually mentioned in the movie that CIndy was 22?? I have the movie on VHS (I really wish they'd come out with this on DVD), so I'll have to try to track it down (all of remaining VHS tapes are put away since most movies I had before on VHS have now been replaced by the DVD version) and find out, but if anyone can answer this it would be appreciated!

They were usually approximate about ages on the original series. Yes, Cindy was a little old to be an undergraduate. But she always was a bit of a dumba$$. She may have attended college part time or even not attended for a few years. I was only 21 years old when I graduated college. But many classmates I graduated with were much older. Colleges now refer to students over 25 as "non-traditional". When I was in school we called them geezers or grayheads.

I guess I'm one of those geezers, because I graduated college when I was 28 almost four years ago. But I don't remember Cindy being dumb during the series. She was always in the same grade as Bobby. Some people start college late or take breaks for a couple of years in between, regardless of how intelligent they are.
Let's get dangerous! -

The original series was usually very approximate about the ages of the Brady kids.
In high school if you have a pulse and show up almost every day you will get a diploma at the end of four years. College is much different. If you have poor grades, transfer schools and/or change majors that can set you back. A lot of people need an extra semester or two to finish their degree. There is no shame in that as long as you graduate. Many students have been on the "five year plan". Cindy was on the ten year plan. -

It's perfectly conceivable that Cindy changed majors. In
The Brady Brides
she's a theater major, but by the time
The Bradys
came along in 1990 she is working as a DJ. She might have gone for a couple years, tried acting which didn't work out, went back and majored in Communications or Radio/TV. -

By the time child #6 is ready to go to college, most parents would be tired of any struggle the kid puts up, so they're more than happy to let them take their time finishing school.
Also, most parents have more money by then.
So Cindy not graduating till age 25 makes sense.
