Genius sequel

It’s a contender for best sequel ever.
Every choice they made at the script level was exactly right - going to the future as promised by the first film, but then fulfilling that promise with an incredible first act. The future world is amazing, the hover-board action is incredible, the actors playing multiple versions of themselves is fantastic, and the plot is spot on - evil old Biff stealing the almanac, all because of flaws in Marty’s character (that we hadn’t seen before but turn him into a richer character)
Then you’ve got the amazing, dark Act 2 with alternate 1985 ‘Hell Valley’. Trump-Biff is awesome, big-tits Lorraine, George McFly’s grave. The tragedy of not getting Crispin Glover back is turned into a powerful plot point that works perfectly. The idea of an uncanny nightmare version of your normal reality is wonderfully freaky.
Then the utter genius of Act 3 - returning to the first film in a stroke of postmodern genius before postmodernism really hit movies. It returns to those classic moments, without ever overdoing it and feeling like gushy fan-service, while layering on a whole new thrill-ride with Marty trying to make sure history plays out while also frantically trying to grab the almanac. It’s just as nail-biting and fun as the original, and Zemeckis never once drops the tone.
And the ending, absolute chef’s kiss. The Delorean gets zapped by lightning, a dark figure emerges from the rain with a letter for Marty, which they’ve had for 70 years. ‘There’s only one man who can help me’, he runs back to 1955 Doc who has just sent the original Marty back to the future. ‘Great Scott!’ He faints, Marty tries to revive him as the camera pulls away and credits role (or the trailer for Part III plays)
It’s all just so perfect, and Zemeckis as usual gets 10/10 performances from his amazing cast. Tom Wilson as Biff is as hilarious and loathsome as he was first time around, and maybe even levels up. The visual effects are a constant marvel, I still don’t know how they had three characters played by Michael J Fox all interacting with objects in a single shot with a moving camera. The Delorean flies downs onto the street and drives along in a single moving shot, a lamp-post imperceptibly hiding the ‘cut’ from the flying model to the real car - how do you match the positioning? The lighting? Genius.
To take a film as perfect as the original and make a sequel that matches it is almost unheard of. You don’t get films even a
fraction
as good as this nowadays. For a start they
actually wrote the script before shooting
which the retards who now run Hollywood don’t seem to understand
️
Credit to Zemeckis and Gale for never making any more sequels after Part III, and god-willing that will remain the case even after they pass

With cinema dying and AI exploding, I wonder if we’ll ever get entertainment as good as Back To The Future again. I doubt it. -

More laughter is appropriate here.
Let’s try again, ******. You randomly contributed an image of what it constantly feels like to be you, but do you have anything to contribute to the topic at hand? -
